Ischia Dream Run, la gara di corsa che porta gli atleti tra il vulcano Epomeo ed il mar Meditarreno lungo le coste dell’isola. Con una gara non invasiva ed eco sostenibile di interesse culturale e ambientale, gli atleti avranno modo di visitare e scoprire tutte le peculiarità di Ischia e dei suoi Comuni.

The INFN School Of Statistics intends to provide an overview of statistical methods and tools used in particle, astro-particle and nuclear physics.
This School is targeted towards physicists interested in data analysis ranging from PhD students to senior physicists willing to extend their knowledge and skills in the field of statistical methods. The School takes place in Ischia (Napoli, Italy) from 25th to 29th of May 2015.

Lectures are subdivided into five sections: the first section will be an introduction to probability theory, including fundamental definitions of frequentist and Bayesian approaches to probability.
The second section is devoted to statistical methods, including parameter estimates, maximum likelihood and chi-squared methods.
The third section will provide an overview of statistical methods adopted to define confidence intervals and upper limits.
The fourth section will cover multivariate techniques, including artificial neural networks and boosted decision trees.
Finally, the fifth section will present the state-of-the-art software tools used for statistical evaluations.

Two afternoon interactive sessions devoted to practical implementations and exercises are foreseen.

The TOP 2015 workshop will be held on the Ischia island in Italy
from September 14th to 18th.

The workshop will bring together the community of experimental and theoretical physicists working on top quark physics, 20 years after its first discovery, and at the beginning of the exploration of the new energy regime at the Large Hadron Collider. The workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest results from the LHC and Tevatron experiments as well as the most recent theoretical developments and an outlook on top-quark physics at future colliders.

8th International Workshop on Top Quark Physics

The programme will consist of plenary presentations, a poster session and ‘question and answers’ sessions, targeted for young researchers. A significant fraction of the workshop time will be devoted to discussions.

The goal of the workshop is to provide a comprehensive picture of top-quark physics and a forum where experimentalists and theorists can discuss the interpretation of top quark results and plan future measurements.
